À propos de Jewellery Quarter

The Jewellery Quarter is Birmingham at its most distinctive — a compact neighbourhood of Georgian and Victorian workshops where the craft of jewellery-making has been practised for over 250 years. Walk through its streets and you will hear the tap of hammers on precious metals and see workshop windows lit with the glow of jewellers' lamps. Around 500 jewellery businesses still operate here, making it the largest concentration of jewellery production in Europe. But the JQ, as locals call it, is far more than its heritage trade. St Paul's Square, the only remaining Georgian square in Birmingham, provides an elegant centrepiece surrounded by restaurants and bars. The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter preserves a working workshop frozen in time. New residential developments are sensitively converting former factories into characterful apartments, and the dining scene — led by The Wilderness and a growing collection of independent eateries — is putting the neighbourhood on Birmingham's foodie map. For investors, the JQ combines heritage charm with serious growth potential.
