Kelvin Heights extends into Lake Wakatipu as a sun-drenched peninsula — one of the few Queenstown addresses that receives all-day northerly sunshine, a premium attribute in a mountain-shadowed district. The road runs along the lake edge past a mix of properties: original 1960s holiday baches alongside modern prestige homes designed to maximise the extraordinary views back towards Queenstown, the Remarkables, and Walter Peak. At the peninsula's tip, the Kelvin Heights Golf Course is a championship layout set against one of the most photographed mountain backdrops in New Zealand. The golf club restaurant provides the only dining on the peninsula — everything else is a 10-15 minute drive to Frankton or Queenstown CBD. Property rarely comes to market here — owners tend to hold long-term, creating genuine scarcity. When homes do sell, they command NZD 2 million or more for the combination of sunshine, privacy, lake access, and views.
