Quality over quantity: INTRIC at JLL's Global Property Expo in Singapore

JLL's Global Property Expo was held for the first time from 18 to 20 July 2025 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, in Singapore. JLL describes it as Asia's first and largest dedicated platform for international residential real estate. LeadingRE, the global network of independent brokerages, was a strategic partner.

What the Expo set out to do

The aim, as JLL framed it before the event, was to connect international developers with active investors in a market where overseas buying is unusually strong. JLL cited MSCI figures showing that Singaporean investors put about 25.3 billion US dollars into international real estate in 2023. Two conference tracks covered sustainable property investment and PropTech linked to smart-city infrastructure, alongside sessions on wealth creation and alternative financing.

After the event JLL reported more than 2,500 qualified buyers, over 40 exhibitors showing more than 70 projects from 20 countries, and a conference of 38 sessions with more than 60 speakers. Projects came from Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America and the Middle East.

INTRIC on the second day

On the second day, INTRIC's founder, Abhii Dabas, took part in a fireside chat with Stavroula Vamvaka of Newdeal Group, moderated by Paulo Lopes of Casaiberia. The conversation looked at the difficulties of buying property abroad, from legal surprises to hidden costs, and at what international buyers wish they had known before a first overseas purchase.

Writing in The Portugal News, Mr Lopes recalled that the audience's reactions and follow-up questions suggested grounded, experience-led insight was what attendees had come for. He also noted that the fair was not crowded, but that its visitors were serious, local and international, with a targeted interest in overseas property. Other sessions that day looked at AI and automation in property investment, inflation-resistant strategies, a beginner's guide to residential investing and the rise of luxury home exchange.

The Expo opened the day after LeadingRE's Asia Pacific Forum, also in Singapore, where Mr Dabas led a session on user experience in real estate.
