About Tatlısu

Tatlısu (Akanthou) is a tranquil coastal farming village on the Mediterranean shore below the Beşparmak mountains, a member of the international Cittaslow ("slow city") network. Historically known for halloumi and olive/carob cultivation, it is now attracting low-density, sea-view new-build developments while keeping its unspoilt character. The late-Byzantine Panagia Pergaminiotissa church and the Çiftlikdüzü Neolithic site (one of Cyprus' earliest-settlement candidates) sit nearby. Tatlısu is the most affordable coastal entry in the Famagusta district: prices start from around €87,200 for compact apartments, with portal-reported averages of roughly £150,500 (1-bed), £224,600 (2-bed) and £301,100 (3-bed) apartments and villas around £692,800; example €/m² ranges ~€1,766–€3,020. It is ~35–40 km east of Kyrenia, ~45 km from Famagusta city and ~50 km from Ercan Airport, with a sandy municipal beach in the village. Every foreign purchase requires Permission to Purchase and title-deed due diligence.
